Position: Development Strategist

FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time, Onsite

The Position:

The Development Strategist works collaboratively with ANWOL staff to ensure adequate resources for the organization and compliance with grant and contractual requirements. Key functions include assistance with grant writing, identifying and responding to upcoming service contract opportunities, data/contract/grant tracking, reporting and compliance.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

•Help identify foundations/contractual opportunities likely to support ANWOL programs without compromising
•organizational mission and strategic direction
•Help submit Letters of Introduction (LOIs) to potential funders
•Help develop proposals to funders/contractual agencies
•Assist with tracking and managing organizational program data
•Assist with monitoring and ensuring organizational grant/contract compliance
•Assist with submission of reports to funders in a timely manner
•Help maintain database of donors and grants
•Help maintain and track online donations
•Other duties as assigned


•At least 2 years’ experience in non-profit development, or equivalent, which should include demonstrated fundraising, grant-writing, data tracking, and contract compliance expertise
•Well-developed writing skills
•Ability to produce quality work by assigned deadlines
•Excellent organization, human relations and communication skills
•Profound passion and commitment to helping the underserved
•Knowledge of the criminal justice system and of the impacts of incarceration on families and communities preferred
