A New Way of Life is seeking a dedicated individual to fill an open Employment Developer/Case Manager position within our Workforce Development & Education Department.
The Employment Developer/Case Manager will work with the A New Way of Life Reentry Project’s Director of Workforce Development & Education, the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO), LA County jails and other outside agencies to identify and train incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women in obtaining living wage employment and/or entrepreneurial opportunities. Additionally, this position collaborates with CEO and other community partners to assist in maintaining best practices of trauma-informed services in the application of methods and techniques in case management with gender as an engagement perspective.
In the role the Employment Developer/Case Manager will collaborate with the Director of Workforce Development & Education assisting formerly incarcerated and incarcerated women with employment and school enrollment readiness support, resume building, interview preparation and multidimensional solutions. The Employment Developer/Case Manager will guide new participants from a strengths-based, gender-responsive participant–focused orientation in both pre and post-release environments. The Employment Developer/Case Manager will conduct weekly orientations, employment readiness workshops and provide on-going case management and retention support to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women as they re-enter the workforce.
• Must receive clearance to enter LA County correctional facilities after submission of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Volunteer and Service Providers Background Application
•Trauma informed and gender-responsive focused
•Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
•Type a minimum of 45 wpm
•Understanding of the population to be served
•Clean driving record, and insurance
•BS/BA strongly preferred
•Strong interpersonal/collaborative skills (Motivational Interviewing knowledge a plus)
•Strong case management and documentation skills
•Attention to detail and ability to develop and maintain program data and organizational systems
•Team player, collaborative project development skill useful
