Benefits Housing Coordinator
A New Way of Life provides women returning home from jail and/or prison with safe housing, assists with re-establishing community connections and creates an environment that allows them to heal from trauma and transform their lives for themselves. The Benefits Housing Coordinator is the primary contact for life documents and assistance programs, and maintains the integrity of A New Way of Life Reentry Project’s safe house model.
Special Events Coordinator
Throughout the year, as part of our overall work, A New Way of Life (ANWOL) offers opportunities for our constituents to grow and prosper. Working in collaboration with all departments, the Special Events Coordinator will be the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) FOR all Organization events to ensure we provide meaningful and well-choreographed events, in addition to other community gatherings that move ANWOL’s mission forward. This is an office-based position, with some travel required.
Staff Attorney
The Staff Attorney works in the Legal Department of ANWOL with the goal of reducing the legal burdens placed on formerly incarcerated people as well as lowering the barriers to employment faced by formerly incarcerated people. The available position will specifically focus on the Re-entry Legal Clinic, the largest reentry clinic in Los Angeles County, and individual representation of clients.
Senior Staff Attorney
The Senior Staff Attorney will supervise the Family Reunification Department of A New Way of Life Reentry Project (ANWOL), which helps reunite formerly incarcerated parents with their children by providing direct representation in California’s family courts and Probate Courts, as well as, providing “support person” advocacy in Dependency Court proceedings and support letters or advocacy at Criminal Court hearings for parents with outstanding charges. In addition, the Senior Staff Attorney may contribute to civil rights impact litigation, policy work in family reunification, at local, state, and federal level, and provide family reunification legal clinics in jails/prisons in Los Angeles County.
LCSW Social Worker
The LCSW Social Worker (Clinician) possesses and implements the generic knowledge and educational background applicable to working with formerly incarcerated individuals, groups, families, other disciplines and community services within and outside A New Way of Life Reentry Project (ANWOL). The Clinician works with all appropriate systems on behalf of the client, and will visit all of the reentry facilities. The Clinician will provide a model of social service delivery that includes counseling and case management services.
Housing Coordinator
The Housing Coordinator is responsible for the proper administration and oversight of A New Way of Life Reentry Project’s safe house model by assisting women returning home from jail and/or prison with safe housing, re-establishing community connections and creating an environment that allows them to heal from trauma and transform their lives.
